Rooted in collaboration. Growing regional evidence on antimicrobial resistance.
Who we are
RAIZ is an interdisciplinary network of experts and stakeholders from Latin America who work on antimicrobial resistance.
Its founding members are affiliated to the Federal University of São Paulo, Brazil, Pontificia Universidad Católica, Chile, the University of St Andrews, UK and University of Oxford, UK.
The network is supported by the Royal Society of Edinburgh, UK.
What we do
The name RAIZ (‘root’ in Spanish and Portuguese) was chosen because our approach is rooted in local understandings. We want to advance expertise and research on AMR through bottom-up approaches.
Our aim is to connect AMR experts and stakeholders across the Latin American region, to foster better knowledge sharing. We will create opportunities to work together to share data, approaches and methods which help to improve the measurement of the burden of antimicrobial resistance in the region.
How we do it
The RAIZ network connects stakeholders and experts through:
- a directory of available data on antimicrobial use and antimicrobial resistance
- regular online and in person events
- a searchable directory of experts – please sign up here Join RAIZ
